Friday the 24th of March 2017 is “Red Nose Day”. It’s the main biennial fundraising event organised by “Comic Relief” – broadcast live on BBC One and BBC Two television from 7.00pm in the evening until early the following morning. It raises money for numerous charities that help children in need and tackle worldwide poverty.
Here in Ruddington, staff at our branch of The Nottingham Building Society (pictured above) have secured a raft of raffle prizes to raise money for Comic Relief – thanks to the generosity of local businesses. This is the full list:
Tickets are just £1 each by popping into the branch. Of course the more you buy the better chance you have of winning – and the more money you’ll raise for the charities. And, if you need somewhere to pay in any funds you have raised yourself for Red Nose Day, you can do so in our Nottingham Building Society branch!
Meantime Julie Smith of Ruddington’s Black Cat Café has been supporting Red Nose Day all week with sales of her Fancy Sweetie Cake and Red Nose Biscuit – with 50p from every slice sold going to Comic Relief.
AND, if you haven’t bought your own red nose or other merchandise for this year’s event yet, you can still do so from the special Red Nose Day merchandising stand inside our Sainsbury’s Local on Dutton’s Hill.
